What were your favourite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey?

Playing in you tube..... I discovered some great music videos from my youth.... and also discovering how to customise youtube, creating play lists, and personalising my "player". OK - it took me 5 hours to do it, but I experimented, persevered and worked it all out for myself. A great buzz!!

How has this program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals?

This program has provided me personally with additional sources of information, opportunities to experiment with 2.0 tools which would otherwise gone by the wayside because of my lack of knowledge, opportunity and motivation. this program has alos put me in contact with other Library 2.0 users, librarians and library communites internationally. This program has given me a small understanding of the “language’ used. E.g. embedded, html, blogs, posts, url, RSS, etc. We can sometimes use this terminology but really have no concept of how it actually works in practice, but using Netvibes, and creating a blog has given me the opportunity to put these tools into action and seeing how to use them in day to day life.

Were there any unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?

I was frustrated at first with some of the websites assumption that we would know where to start, how to upload code, etc as there were not instructions. Eg 1,do this,, 2 go to, 3 click here. Etc but as I slowly became familiar with how these sites “worked” I became more confident and familiar with the processes.

I am now trying to use my Netvibes as my homepage to manoeuvre around my favourites, searching Google, checking out the News headlines etc. I plan to continue to experiment of some of these tools to fully utilise their features.

I also found my typing and proof reading is appalling…I tend to read what I think it says rather than what I actually wrote…LOL

What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept?

Apart from allowing for more time between each week, on some activities. I feel that some of the links could be changed to be more instructional, perhaps change the order of some of the weeks (locating the tutorials on you tube for some of the web 2.0 tools was a bit late in the day to save the stress) Buddy up, Although most of us did share our experiences and offer assistance. I enjoyed sharing what I have learnt so far

And last but not least… If we offered another discovery program like this in the future, would you again chose to participate?
Definitely… I found it both challenging and rewarding... Did we have a choice?

Thank you Donna. A great program.
